After reading George Orwell’s 1984 and Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express…
I was keen to pick up a modern, sci-fi novel.
I initially bought Ready Player One by Ernest Cline book for my teenaged son.
But sooo many people raved about it, and I noticed it was rated as NUMBER 1 on this list of “Best Sci-Fi of the 21st Century“.
I can’t go past a rating like that, so I had to try it myself.
It was definitely written for sci-fi fans, males aged 35 and above, who are fans of gaming and gaming culture — all of which I am not, haha!
Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was a really fun, easy and entertaining read.
