Fashion week fever hit my home town last week and it was so much fun!
The Telstra Perth Fashion Festival was spread out over 2 weeks, with free events in the Perth CBD during the first week and evening runway shows at the Crown Pyramid during the second week.
I am always thrilled to watch fashion shows in Perth, as I’m super proud of all the local creatives involved – the designers, organisers, producers, models, stylists, makeup and hair artists, photographers, managers and more.
I managed to capture a snippet of each show I attended. Here are some of my highlights:
Jonte Designs: A fairly new WA brand by designer Jonte. Ever since her launch, Jonte consistently releases a stunning collection each new season.
The show featured her beautiful, signature feminine gowns, embroidery, ruffled skirts, sheer fabrics and little pom pom details.
Morgan Marks: Morgan Marks has been designing under her namesake label since 1998, however I haven’t actually heard of it before. I’m so delighted to know of her now, because I love that she has survived through the ups and downs of the fashion industry.
Her runway showcased clothes with beautiful fabrics, expert draping, minimal palette and loose silhouettes.
ILKA: Another WA label I’ve never heard of before! This is one of the coolest things about the fashion festival – discovering WA brands! I was so delighted to see such a full and COOL collection! There were so many items that I wanted and the styling was brilliant!
I loved the flamenco inspired, fun ruffles, and vibrant colours!
Megan Salmon: A long standing designer in WA fashion. Megan’s runway featured lovely feminine designs, wearable layers, gorgeous artistry and floral prints.
Flannel: Luxurious fabrics, effortless style, boho-beachy vibe. Loved this collection!
One Fell Swoop: Wow. Amazing silks, jaw dropping draping, stunning colours, yet still so elegant and sophisticated.
33 Poets: Deliciously dark, artisan dyed fabrics, delicate embroidery, lovely draping.
Aelkemi: Another wow! High voltage gowns, sexy cutouts, bright bold colours and glamorous metallics.
Rachel Gilbert: Stunning sequinned dresses, sheer panels, beautiful fine details!
I can’t wait to pop into each of the stores to have a closer look at the new collections.
