Tibi Cecil Mules

Last year I bought myself some Black Slides from ASOS (I reviewed them here) thinking that I’d just experiment with the mule style and NOT invest in a higher-quality pair.

It turned out that I LOVED my slides. They were so so so easy to wear with jeans, pants, culottes, shorts, skirts – everything! I wore them everywhere and they are a bit worn out now.

They were also pointed-toe, so they squeezed my toes together, which meant they hurt my toes after a while.

So in an effort to wear less pointed-toe shoes, I decided to switch up and upgrade them.

Say hello to my new Cecil Mules by luxe NY brand Tibi.

I kind of wanted the Cecil Mules in Gold because they just looked so cool, different and fabulous. But I decided to be sensible and get the black ones.

Wide toe and black! Sensible indeed haha!

The description on the product page, said that the mules “Can be worn with the back up or down” but it turned out they can’t be worn with the back up. I tried to flip it up, but it’s glued down tight. So I’m thinking that the description was an error. I was a little disappointed because I thought I’d get 2 in 1 styles – Mules and Loafers! Oh well.

But it’s not so bad that I’d return them, because they are just LOVELY.

They are so soft, lightweight, yet firm and strong. They are super comfy too.

They are a fantastic upgrade!

I also had my eye on these Amina Nappa Slides by Acne Studios, which also featured a heel cap which can be worn up or down. They looked super soft. But they were pointed-toe and a little more expensive. And they looked less like loafers when worn as a shoe.
