What I Wore: Flares and Turtlenecks

21 August 2015

Turtleneck and Flares

Tee hee, it’s been quite fun to pull out some of my favourites clothes from years gone by!

Flares! Turtlenecks! It feels like I’m playing dress ups, without feeling like a freak show.

I’ve already featured THREE of my old flare jeans on my blog (in this post) and since then, I have worn them several times… in public!

Hmmm, I don’t think I will be buying any new season flares this season. They are possibly a bit too over the top (and colourful) for me. But if you’re interested, I spotted some flares at Topshop where you can pick up some lace flares, velvet flares, patterned flares, paisley flares or even white crochet flares – wayhey!

Turtleneck and Flares

For this outfit, I tried to keep everything minimal, casual and subdued. No paisley here!

It really was just an everyday outfit with a tiny bit of fun thrown in.

As for my turtleneck sleeveless sweater (similar here), I bought it about 15 years ago, when I was stocking up on my wardrobe basics. It was around $60 from Sportsgirl, which I think was fairly pricey at the time. Interestingly enough, the fabric has kept very well, it still has a good stretch and the knit is still soft and smooth. I am very happy that it has lasted so long.

Do you keep your favourite old clothes?

I’m a bit of a hoarder and I will never make a good minimalist!
