Wishing Well

3 December 2014

On the weekend, I spent a bit of one-on-one time with my 5 year old, Liam.

We took a walk through the sunny gardens of Kings Park and found a wishing well.

I dug into my bag and found two 20 cent coins. We threw them in, both making our wishes at the same time.

Wishing Well

My son asked me what I wished for.

I said, “Wellllll, you’re not really supposed to tell anyone your wish,” and at that point I was frantically trying to make something up in my head, because I didn’t really wish for anything!

“But I’ll tell you if you tell me OK?”, I said. “I wished for all our family and friends, all over the world, to have good health and happiness for the rest of their lives.”

He nodded thoughtfully. So I asked him “What did YOU wish for?”

“I wished for the whole world to be made of lollies and candy.”

I laughed.

He asked, “Do you think it’s going to come true?”

I said, “Nope.”

“Maybe we should put more money in?”
