Shopping Goodies – Country Burgundy
18 June 2011I bought a few things recently, in completely different and unconnected circumstances.
And as I photographed them, I was thinking that -visually- they all actually go quite well together in a “country style” kind of look.
Unfortunately, I don’t pull off the “country look” very well. And don’t think I will wear them together in one outfit. Because I had other different and unconnected plans in mind…
Burgundy is very on-trend at the moment, which is nice because – since I was 18 – I’ve always wanted a pair of wine coloured pants! I’m so happy! I found this pair on YesStyle.
I’m planning to wear them with the many black-and-white striped tops that I have accumulated this winter!!
In Australia, almost all the high street brands are having amazing sales – from 30% – 70% off. And I’m wincing from the pain the temptation is causing me. So yes I’ve bought a few items, including this – a super cute checked shirt!
I’ve only ever owned ONE checked shirt… so for a few months I’ve been trying to buy another one. I was stalking a few styles from luxury labels online…umming and ahhing about which to buy… but I just couldn’t find a colour combination that I like.
Lo and behold I walked past a Cotton On shop, saw this design in the window and ran in to buy it. For $15!
I’m planning to wear it layered in my classic and simple winter outfits – with a white or grey or black t-shirt, with a wool cardigan or pullover, with a trenchcoat and scarf.
I bought a cute See By Chloe tee from theoutnet.com. Sweet and simple. And on sale of course.
I’m planning to wear it with a brightly coloured maxi skirt that I’m currently sewing!
And lastly, some very cool wedge booties from Betts. I adore the colour, the suede, and the laces!
I’m planning to wear these with floaty sheer nudes tops, chunky knit layers, and leather skirts or shorts.
