The Colour of Sunshine
11 June 2011Lately I’ve had a fondness for wearing gold accessories, and it made me wonder whether I would wear a bit more yellow in my outfits.
I have never worn a lot of yellow – be it, ochre, mustard, sunshine, lemon, or canary!
I guess I’ve always made the assumption that since I’m “yellow skinned”, wearing a lot of yellow will make my skin tone look weird and I’ll look all sickly? Don’t know, I’ve never tried it.
I have worn this dress by Aelkemi, but it’s only half yellow, so I don’t think that counts.
I had a little look in my wardrobe to see if I had any yellow items… and this is what I found.
I own a pair of cute, small heeled, leather shoes by Zu. It’s not exactly LOOK AT ME YELLOW! Just a muted mustard colour.
A black and gold belt, by Generics Accessories. I’ve been told that they will soon launch their online shop – very exciting, as their stuff is really cool!
OK it’s not really yellow.
This is a one-shoulder, slinky, bodycon dress from ASOS. Again, it won’t exactly make me look like a canary. It has this digital print of a blurry watercolour, mixing black, purples, oranges and yes, yellow.
This is a chunky ring, again from ASOS, featuring a semi precious yellow green stone, which looks more yellow in real life.
And that’s about it!
Who knows, maybe I’ll give it a try one day and dress head to toe in yellow – like Big Bird.
