My 3.5yo son has recently learnt how to write his name.

I have no idea if this is early or late in childhood development. I’m not a very pushy parent in this regard. I’m confident my kids will learn to read and write in their own time, and there’s no point forcing it onto them when they aren’t ready or interested.

And right now, my Sean has definitely been ensnared by this writing thing.

He especially loves making SIGNS and sticky taping them around the house.

He came up to me the other day and whispered…

“Psst. Mum! Do robbers read?”

“Um. Yes!” I whispered back.

“Oh good. I made a sign for them. No stealing. We should be safe now!”
