Spiderman
19 September 2006
Sigh. My efforts in shielding my children away from mass commercialised kiddy brands doesn’t seem to be working.
Because my 3 year old has an obsession with Spiderman. I don’t think he actually knows who or what Spiderman is. He sees Spiderman lunch boxes and bowls in the shops, and older boys wearing the tshirts. He’s played Spiderman games where the boys just run around in circles shouting I AM SPIIIIIDERMAAAAAN! NO YOU’RE NOT! YES I AM! NO I AM SPIDERMAN!!!
Other than that, he can’t seem to tell me what’s so special about Spiderman. Except that he’s really cool. Said in such a way that accuses me of never being able to be that cool.
My dad gave him a pair of Spiderman shorts. And he won’t part with it. Every single morning Callum would ask me, “Can I wear my Spiderman shorts? Please mum please?” Sometimes I purposely hide it and tell him it’s in the wash.
Anyway, he drew a funny picture and I thought I should share it.
