I don’t think I’ve posted a picture of our sandpit before! It sits along the back fence of our backyard, hidden behind some trees. It’s got a lid, so cats don’t use it as a toilet. And it’s surrounded by an ocean of pebbles. My husband built it out of old bits of wood he found by the side of the road.

We’ve got a vine growing overhead, so it’s nice and shady all year round. On the right of the photo, you might notice my [very small] cherry tomato seedlings that we planted last month. On the left of the photo, we have a square of cement slabs which we call out messy area. For painting, playdough, gluing, and hosing things down etc.

Every afternoon, when it’s not raining, I throw them outside. No matter what the temperature is, I’ll dress them appropriately – hats + sunscreen or gumboots + woolly jumpers. And they are always SO happy.
