Wining and Dining
17 January 2006The other day I went out to dinner with two good friends. Two guys. And I swear, there was more bitching, gossiping and giggling about life and love than an episode of Sex in the City. It was hilarious. I enjoyed it so much. We ate so much good food (bruschettas, chillied mussels and pizzas), then moved on for some late night live jazz.
A few nights later I went back to the same restaurant with a girlfriend, because I had this huge hankering for some seafood pasta. However, they were fully booked and we had to settle for an overly posh place down the road.
Haha. And I always always do this. I always end up ordering the ‘risky’ dishes. I mean, I cook so much at home, the last thing I want to eat is something that I can cook myself. To my liking. For a quarter of the price. (Can you tell I don’t get out much?)
So I ended up with the Crab + Chilli Risotto. Ok not that risky, but let me just say that I’ve always stayed away from risotto. I think it’s the Chinese in me. $25 for a plate of mushy rice? You mean like jook?!? You’ve got to be kidding.
Verdict? I think the crab was a bit overcooked. Meh, I guess it was ok. (Read – I prefer my jook.)
