Um, meet my sister, Christine
12 January 2006
I love my sister’s quirky sense of humour and her adventurous spirit. She never ceases to entertain me with her stories of weird-ass things.
From the everyday :
“Hey guess what, I blew up an egg in my microwave…”
To the inane :
“Hey guess what, I drank soup from a bowl bigger than my head…”
To the one-in-a-lifetime thrills :
“Hey guess what, a friend and I went to a photography studio, dressed up as geishas, walked around town for a bit and fooled some tourists who took photos of us.”
So, yeah. She and another Australian Asian friend living in Japan, went to a studio, put on the whole geisha kit — kimono, obi belts, wooden platforms, wigs, white make up, everything!
“I tried hard not to laugh when I saw Sue Yen being bashed in the face with this giant powder puff.”
Then they were allowed to walk around fully dressed. With instructions : “No eating, drinking, touching your face, pulling the kimono, touching the wig, shopping, smoking, going to the toilet. Just walking and taking photos. Okay?”
They drew a crowd. Tourists and locals. People stared. People took pictures. And then they both smiled, waved and left with a “No worries, mate!”
Hahaha, I love it.
