Callum is now 17 months old! That’s almost 1 year and a half, for all you people who don’t speak in Months.

He’s got 13 teeth. He’s a great sleeper - 11 hours through the night and 3 hours in the day. He drinks 500mL of formula a day. But We found out that he’s lactose intolerant.

He loves picking up bugs. He’s obsessed with books. He loves drinking carrot juice. He loves eating curry. He’s got short legs. He doesn’t like brushing his teeth. TV bores him. And he hates Gymbaroo.

My brother, Lionel and his gorgeous bride, Thibe got married on the weekend!

There was a roasted pig, live chickens, platters of Chinese biscuits, fruit, alcohol and so much food!

They got married at Hyde Park which was AMAZING and sparkling in the September sun.

The wedding reception was huge, held at the new Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
I wore my black silk cheong sum and put Callum in a little Chinese pyjama outfit. I even had him wearing little fuzzy slippers. He was sooo cute. Running up and down the whole function room, with all the little girls chasing him across the dance floor. It was one of the best weddings I’ve been to!

My cousin Ben and my long time good friend, Joanne got married the weekend before! And like most fly-in weddings, the weekend was purposely jam packed with activities and events.

Sandalford Winery was gorgeous. Everything was simple and relaxed, with a whole lot of lovely personal touches. It was such a nice day. I just LOVE weddings.

I was amazed how well Callum managed throughout these last few weekends. For some nights, he didn’t get to bed until 11pm! But he didn’t seem too fussed about it. As long as he had a steady supply of interesting food to munch on, he was happy.

The days have been growing warmer and warmer.

I couldn’t resist taking Callum to the river today. We went to visit the park at Deep Water Point in Mount Pleasant.
The swings were fun, the playground was adequate. But Callum was drawn to the river and I literally had to tackle him to the ground to stop him from leaping into the water.

There was NO ONE around. It was fantastic. We had a little private beach all to ourselves! We took off our shoes, paddled in the water, made sand castles, collected sticks and shells, and examined the dead jellyfish washed up on the shore.
The tide was low, the water was still. We could have waded several metres into the river, but I didn’t like the idea of stomping on rocks and sea creatures without my shoes.

Of course Callum FELL into the water. And of course I was totally unprepared for a soggy baby. I didn’t even have a towel for him! So I stripped him down and let him play in the water in the nude. I was one of THOSE parents now. My husband and I sat on the beach and laughed at our sand coated toddler.
